Suriya's mythological epic Kanguva, directed by Siva, made a spectacular streaming debut on Amazon Prime Video with ₹200 crore in licensing and viewership revenue in its first week.
The film, which stars Suriya in a dual role spanning two time periods — ancient Tamil tribal warrior and modern-day cop — received glowing reviews for its breathtaking action sequences and visual effects.
VFX supervisor Srinivas Mohan called Kanguva "the most VFX-heavy Tamil film ever made" with over 1,600 VFX shots across the film.
The Tamil diaspora globally drove strong viewership numbers from USA, UK, Singapore, and the UAE, where dedicated Prime Video Tamil content collections surged.
