Reliance Jio announced the completion of its True 5G coverage across all 648 taluks of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, including remote tribal areas in the Nilgiris, Dharmapuri, and Krishnagiri districts.

Average 5G download speeds measured across rural Tamil Nadu stood at 201 Mbps, while urban areas like Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai clocked 480-620 Mbps on the Jio network.

The rollout included over 12,000 new 5G base stations installed across the state over 18 months, with solar-powered towers in areas without reliable grid electricity.
